Abstract:

The aim of this study is to study the impact of pre-school teacher candidates in reading habits on critical thinking skills. This study was carried out in a relative scan model based on quantum research. Related to the research from the Bayburt University Ethics Council on 12.03.2020 and 79126184-050.99/E. In accordance with Article 6399 of the Ethical Council, the approval has been obtained. The scales used in the research are transmitted to the electronic medium and presented to the teachers candidates who receive a bachelor's degree in the pre-school teaching department of the universities included in the sample and who wish to participate voluntarily in the research (googledriver)https://forms. The examples of this research are voluntarily supported by 357 teachers candidates who continue their bachelor's education in the field of pre-school teaching in various universities in Turkey. The research used the "Square of Attitude to the Book Reading Habit" and the "Square of Critical Thinking Skills" as a data collection tool. The SPSS 22.00 program was used for the statistical analysis of the data obtained in the study. The results of the analysis showed that the research data showed normal distribution. Starting from these results, the scores that pre-school teacher candidates receive from the sub-dimensions of "The scale of attitude towards improving reading" are calculated by the scale of "The scale of ethereal thinking" with the scale they receive from the sub-dimensions. Later the linear regression analysis of the correlation analysis of the pearson moments and the processing of each other of these scales was made to reveal the relationship between these scales. The results of this analysis found that there were meaningful relationships in the right direction between attitudes towards the reading habit and the ability to think critically.
