Otel İşletmelerinde Çalışanların İş Yerindeki Şefkate İlişkin Algılarının Örgütsel Bağlılıklarına Etkisi

Abstract:

Bu çalışmanın amacı otel işletmelerinde çalışanların iş ortamında algıladıkları şefkat düzeyinin örgütsel bağlılıklarını etkileyip etkilemediğinin tespit edilmesidir. Bu amaç doğrultusunda Çukurova Bölgesi’nde faaliyet gösteren üç, dört ve beş yıldızlı otel çalışanlarından veri toplanmıştır. Algılanan şefkat düzeyinin eğitim seviyesine, otelin sahiplik durumuna ve sektörde çalışma süresine göre farklılaştığı tespit edilmiştir. Buna göre, algılanan şefkat düzeyi eğitim seviyesi artıkça artmaktadır. Zincir otellerde çalışanların algıladıkları şefkat tek şahsa ait otel işletmelerinde çalışanlara oranla daha yüksektir. Yine, sektörde çalışma süresi arttıkça algılanan şefkat düzeyi azalmaktadır. Algılanan şefkat düzeyi açısından cinsiyet, yaş ve aynı otelde çalışma süresine göre ise anlamlı bir farklılık tespit edilememiştir. Çalışmada, iş ortamında algılanan şefkat düzeyinin duygusal ve normatif bağlılık ile pozitif ilişkili olduğu ve örgütsel bağlılığı olumlu yönde etkilediği tespit edilmiştir.

The aim of this study is to determine whether the level of compassion perceived by the employees in the hotel affects their organizational commitment. For this purpose, the data were collected from three, four- and five-star hotel employees operating in Chukurova Region. It was found that perceived compassion levels vary according to education level, hotel ownership and working time in the sector. Accordingly, the level of perceived compassion increases as the level of education increases. The perceived compassion of the employees in the chain hotels is higher than that of the single-person hotels. Again, as the working time increases, the level of perceived compassion decreases. In terms of perceived compassion level, there was no significant difference according to gender, age and working time in the same hotel. In the study, it was found that the perceived level of compassion in the work environment was positively correlated with affective and normative commitment and also positively affects organizational commitment.
