Abstract:

The purpose of this research is to study the personal and professional skills of the Turkish teacher candidates in relation to media literature. Relative scanning models from quantum research models were used in the research. The study’s sample group includes 188 Turkish teachers candidates studying at a state university in western Turkey. In the study, the validity and reliability made by Aytaş and Kaplan (2017) was used "Media Reading Teacher Qualifications Scale". While evaluating the findings obtained from the study, the SPSS25 package program was used for statistical analysis. Data, visual statistical analysis, t test, one-way variance analysis (ANOVA), correlation analysis have been analyzed. According to the research, the candidates for Turkish teachers have stated that they consider themselves sufficient personal and professional in the field of media literature. The opinions of the teaching candidates on media literature and the class levels, the economic situation, the number of books they read per year, the time they spend on the internet, the conditions of regular follow-up and the gender have a meaningful relationship. Teacher candidates have expressed negative opinions on the issue that the media should be used only for entertainment purposes and that they should use only the activities contained in the curriculum in the classes.
