Abstract:

It is known that the foundations, which are an indispensable element of the Ottoman daily life, have made their services in the socio-cultural and socio-economic spheres over the years. The details on the subject can be found in the foundations of the foundations.  Through the foundations, the charitatives have materialized their feelings and thoughts while also delivered the information that reflects the time they have lived until today. In this context, progress through the foundations in the Ottoman city historical studies has been seen as one of the conditions for the ability to detailed results from primary sources.  The work made by the foundation is often not sufficiently recognised from the funds that are sampled through real estate foundations. With a limited number of research funds, the funds have come to the forefront. In these researches, money foundations were considered as a credit element, only numerical data were evaluated in economic fields. When foundations are studied in whole, it is seen that funds contain social and cultural information beyond what is known. The purpose of the study is to investigate the contribution of the foundations to the sustainability by moving the funds out of the narrow framework they are stuck.  Thanks to the selected examples, more than one fund contributed to the admirations of the changes experienced over the years.
