Abstract:

The aim of this study is to examine the attitudes of the teachers candidates towards the free time in terms of various variables. The universe of the research was formed by the educational faculty and the faculty of sports sciences studying at the University of Kırıkkale, and the sampling was formed by 286 people who participated voluntarily in the survey. As a data collection tool, Personal Information Form was developed by Ragheb and Beard (1982) and adapted to Turkish by Akgül and Gürbüz (2010) and used the "Free Time Attitude Scale". Craig vd to measure the level of physical activity of the participants. (2010) developed by and Turkish validity reliability work Karaca vd. The International Physical Activity Survey (International Physical Activity Survey) was implemented. The normality of distribution was tested by the Kolmogorov-Smirnov test. In the analysis of data, T-test, ANOVA and Correlation tests were used for normal disseminated data, and Mann Whitney U test and Kruskal-Wallis H test were applied for normal non disseminated data. As a result, it was found that the level of physical activity of the candidate teachers, where their leisure attitudes vary according to gender and the study period, was low and medium. A meaningful positive relationship between the scale of leisure attitude and the level of physical activity has been found at a low and medium level (p<0.05).
