Abstract:

The aim of this study is to determine principals’ views towards returning to teaching. This study was designed with qualitative research method. The data was obtained with interview technique. The study group of research was comprised of ten principals who were dismissed within the scope of regulation. As a result of the views of the research participants, three main themes were identified. These themes were determined as; losses, teaching problems in the process and the positive side. Under the theme of losses, most of the participants were complaining of financial losses. Under the theme of problems, most of the participants cannot adapt to the new curriculum. On the positive side theme, it was identified as the reduction of the responsibility. As a result of study, it is suggested that principals is given a different task, or returning to teaching after the adaptation process may be more efficient.
