Bu çalışmanın amacı okul müdürlerinin okul yönetiminde karşılaştıkları sorunların çözümüne yönelik nasıl bir karar verme süreci izlediklerini, problemleri algılama ve çözme sürecinde dikkate aldıkları değerlerin neler olduğunu araştırmaktır. Çalışmada ayrıca, Değer Temelli Uyum Teorisi bağlamında Türk kültürüne özgü bir okul müdürü sınıflamasının yapılması amaçlanmıştır. Araştırma nitel araştırma yöntemlerinden olgubilim deseniyle modellenmiştir. Çalışma grubunu Tokat il merkezinde görev yapmakta olan 13 okul müdürü oluşturmaktadır. Veriler araştırmacılar tarafından geliştirilen yarı yapılandırılmış görüşme formu ile toplanmıştır. Ulaşılan sonuçlara göre, okul müdürleri mesleki hayatlarında saygı, adalet, açık iletişim değerlerini ön planda tutmaktadır. Okul müdürlerinin, okulda akademik ve bürokratik çeşitli sorunlar yaşadığı ve bu sorunların çözümünde iletişim kurmaya ve adil yaklaşıma özen göster-dikleri belirlenmiştir. Katılımcıların problem çözümünde öncelikli olarak sistemli ve bilimsel yaklaşımlar kullanmadıkları görülmüştür. Araştırmada, okul müdürlerinin sahip oldukları değerlerin problemleri algılama ve çözme sürecinde etkisinin olduğu sonucuna varılmıştır. Bu değerler okul içinde insan odaklı bir yaklaşımı, karşılıklı anlayışı, iyi insan ilişkilerini ve olumlu bir okul kültürünü destekleyecek değerlerdir. Çalışmada değer özelliklerine göre Türk kültürüne özgü olarak iletişimci, etik, yenilikçi ve disiplin temelli olmak üzere dört tip okul müdürü ortaya çıkmıştır.
The aim of this study is to explore how school managers follow a decision-making process to solve the problems they encounter in the school management, what values they take into account in the process of detecting and solving problems. The study also aimed at the classification of a school manager characterized by the Turkish culture in the context of the Value-Based Compliance Theory. The research is modeled by the methods of research. The work group is composed of 13 school managers working in the Tokat province center. The data was collected with a semi-configured interview form developed by the researchers. According to the findings, school managers hold the values of respect, justice, open communication in their professional lives in the forefront. School managers have been determined to experience a variety of academic and bureaucratic problems in the school and to communicate and take care of a fair approach to solving these problems. Participants have found that they did not use systematic and scientific approaches in solving the problem in the first place. The study found that the values that school managers possess have an impact on the process of detecting and solving problems. These values are values that will support a human-focused approach, mutual understanding, good human relationships and a positive school culture within the school. According to the value characteristics of the study, four types of school directors, based on communication, ethics, innovation and discipline, have appeared specific to the Turkish culture.
The purpose of this study is to investigate how school principals follow a decision-making process in order to solve the problems they face in school management and what values they take into account in this process. In the study, it is aimed to make a school prin-cipal classification specific to Turkish culture in the context of “Value-Based Congruence Theory”. The research is modeled with the phenomenology pattern, which is one of the qualitative research methods. The study group consists of 13 school principals working in the Tokat city center. The data were collected by a semi-structured interview form developed by the researchers. As a result, school principals prioritize values of respect, justice and open communication in their professional lives. School principals experience various problems both academically and bureaucratically. School principals pay attention to communicate and use a fair approach to solving problems. In the solution of the problem, it was observed that the participants did not use systematic and scientific approaches in the first place. It is concluded that the values of school principals have an impact on the process of perceiving and solving problems. These values are that will support a people-oriented approach, mutual understanding, good human relations, and a positive school culture within the school. In the study, school principals are divided into four types as a communicator, ethical, innovative and disciplined according to their value characteristics in the Turkish context.
