Abstract:

The research is planned to study the relationship between the motivation levels of children aged 48-72 months and the parent-child relationship. However, the question of whether the relationship between the father and the child differs according to the age of the father, the state of education, the profession, and the variables of the relationship between the father and the child. Relational scan model was used in the research. The universe of the research is made up of 48-72 months of children who are related to the primary school in the Silvan district of Diyarbakır in the 2018-2019 educational year. The sample of the study was formed by 331 children identified using the random group sample formula from the universe. The data was obtained using the "General Information Form", the "Motivation Scale for Pre-School Children" and the "Child Parental Relationship Scale (Parental Form"). The study found that the total score of the father-child relationship did not differ significantly according to the father's age and the father's educational status variables (p>0.05); that the father's career variables did not differ significantly (p<0.05); that the father-child relationship and the motivation levels of the children had a negative, meaningful and medium-level relationship (p<0.05).
