Abstract:

This study aims to adapt to the Turkish culture by conducting the validity and reliability study of the "University Students' School Liability Scale" developed by Maroco, Maroco, Campos and Fredricks (2016) to measure the perceptions of university students about school liability. In this regard, the data obtained from 246 students who are studying in various universities during the spring period of the 2016-2017 academic year has been analyzed. The scale, which consists of three dimensions: behavioral commitment, sensual commitment and cognitive commitment, is a measuring tool of 15 ingredient five-liquid type. In the framework of the validity study of the scale, the original scale development study of the factor structure verifying factor analysis (DFA) and the tested interdimensional correlation analysis were performed. In the reliability study of the scale, the Cronbach alpha reliability ratio was shortened and material-totally score correlations were studied. The conformity indicators obtained for the three-dimensional structure of the scale are qualified to support the three-dimensional structure in the original study. These dimensions are called behavioral commitment, emotional commitment and cognitive commitment. The Cronbach Alfa value for the entire scale is .82. The analysis found that the scale adapted to the Turkish language was a valid and reliable measurement tool to measure college students’ commitment to the school.
