Abstract:

Radio and television, the most effective and widely used means of public communication, has continued to exist from the early times in which it emerged to this day. Although the function of the radio is more effective than the television from the mass communication means, it has become more restricted because it is only sound. But radio has never lost its importance, and television has left behind the sound and radio. This has led to the use of television in many areas. According to McLuhan, mass communication means have functions such as communicating, entertaining, training, informing, driving, promoting goods and services, and convincing. Television, which is the most used as a communication and entertainment tool among these functions, has later started to be used for education. The function of the use of television processed as an educational instrument in the framework of the study has revealed more clearly the importance of the changes in education in the field of television after the COVID-19 pandemic that began on 31 December 2019. The COVID-19 epidemic, which has affected the whole world, has led to the evasion of people from social contacts and as a result of disadvantages in the field of education as well as in many areas. The result of the pandemic in Turkey was interrupted on March 12, 2020 and the arrangements made were agreed to continue training in Turkey through EBA TV Internet and TRT EBA TV. The study aimed at detecting changes in TV view rates after the occurring coronavirus pandemic through TRT EBA TV after the continuation of education with the remote education system. In this context, the TIC (Television Tracking Research Anonymous Company) monthly tables of the Full Day (Total Day) and OPT (07:00-20:00) (Off Prime Time) time are examined. In the study, the content analysis method was used as considered the most effective method in the analysis of data analyzes.
