Abstract:

The study aims to determine the perceptions of students about class activities and interest levels in the subjects of science in terms of gender and class variables and to reveal the relationship between them. The study was conducted in the 2018-2019 academic year spring period with a total of 387 students in 2 schools from 2 different provinces of the Marmara region (183 girls, 204 men). Students from 6 to 8 classes were included. The study group has been used to identify the easy-to-access state sample method. The study was also used by the scanning method of the scanning method. The data was obtained by the scale of interest to the subjects of science and the scale of my class activities of science. In the analysis of data, visual statistics, one-way variance (ANOVA), independent groups t-Test and correlation analysis methods have been applied. The research finds that students enjoy, have interest, have the ability to make choices, and have the perception of boundaries, and have the interest levels in the subjects of science at a medium level. The study found that girls’ students have more interest in science issues than men, but their students’ interest in science issues is not statistically significantly differentiated according to class level. It has also been found that there is no significant difference between the perceptions of students about the class activity in the course of science according to gender and class level. A relationship between the students’ perception points for class activities and the interest points for the subjects of science has been identified at a statistically meaningful weak level in a positive direction.
