Abstract:

High-tech products exporting countries can easily increase their export volume and value because high-tech products have a higher income flexibility than primary goods. In this context, for 48 high-tech exporting countries, which represent about 90% of the total high-tech exports in the study, a wide panel data set and a wide range of economic, political and corporate variables, the key elements that determine high-tech exports were studied. For this purpose, for the 1980-2017 period, the panel has been used to study the effects of a series of indicators such as human capital, per-person national income, commercial transparency, direct foreign investments, national savings, political stability, real effective exchange rate, global income increase and patent applications, and the Generalized Moments (GMM) methods. The forecast results show that trade transparency, direct foreign investment (DYY) entry, per person income and human capital are important factors affecting the high-tech export performance of countries.
