Abstract:

This study aims to study the writing concerns of those who learn Turkish as a second language according to gender, country, duration of residence in Turkey, learning Turkish before arriving in Turkey, language skills, finding easy or difficult to learn Turkish and love writing in their native language. A visual scan model has been used to this goal. The research study group consists of 98 students studying at the level B1 at the University of Kütahya Dumlupınar and the University of Gazi in the 2018-2019 educational year. In the study, the data collection tool was developed by Karakuş Tayşi (2018) using the "Turkish as a Foreign Language Teacher's Writing Worry Measurement". In data analysis, according to the variables, standard deviation, arithmetic average, unrelated sampling t-test, one-way variance analysis (ANOVA) was used. The writing concerns of foreign students who learn Turkish have shown significant differences according to the variable of love to write in their native language, easy to find or difficult to learn Turkish in different subdimensions. According to the different variables, the situation identification will contribute to the work to organize the teaching activities and overcome the problems that occur in the process.
