Abstract:

Turkish is taught as a foreign language in many countries outside the country, even in Turkology departments, but it is taught as a foreign language in private language centers. Indeed, Iran is also the top of the countries where Turkish is interested as a foreign language by a wide target audience. But the rooted historical relations between Iran and Turkey and the cohesion of the geographical background in which the soft power of the two countries is influential makes Iran different from other countries in the context of Turkish teaching as a foreign language. The aim of this study is to draw the framework of the Turkish teaching policy as a foreign language that can be applied in the Islamic Republic of Iran, one of the countries where Turkish is interested as a foreign language. The data in the study, which is a qualitative research, was obtained through the observations of the researcher in the field and document analysis. The study is also structured with data that will ensure that the Turkish teaching policy is revealed in a realistic and comprehensive way to foreigners in the Islamic Republic of Iran. In this regard, "How should the Turkish teaching policy for foreigners in the Islamic Republic of Iran be developed?" The question was sought to be answered and some recommendations were presented as an action plan for the foreign language teaching policy in the result section of the study.
