Abstract:

The purpose of this study is 7. It is to study the impact of the context-based approach-based REACT strategy on the student’s conceptual understanding of the subject of “The Forms of Connecting Ampules”. The research is designed according to the karma method. The sample of the study consists of a total of 23 students studying in a state high school connected with one located on the coast of the Eastern Black Sea Region in the 2018 - 2019 educational year. The data was collected using the two-step "Conceptual Forms of Connection Test" and semi-configured interviews. The data obtained from the two-stage concept test are statistically analyzed with the SPSS 21 package program, while semi-configured interviews are analyzed in the content. As a result, in this study, students' control group on "Ampuls' Connection Forms" used in students in the MEB Science Course Teaching Program, the research-based learning approach and the context-based approach used in students in the experiment group, the REACT strategy did not make a significant difference between the student's concept test average scores. Additionally, the study has found that although there is no significant difference between the students’ final test average scores, the context-based REACT strategy has made a greater contribution than the current approach to providing students with conceptual changes on the subject.
