Abstract:

The aim of this study is to explore the impact of research-based learning approach in the 5th class "Light and Voice Dispersion" in the Science Course on the students' self-regulatory skills and scientific attitude. In the study, a semi-experimental pattern with the pre-test-first test control group was used. The study group in this study is 31 students who studied in the 5th grade in a secondary school in Samsun's Havza district in the 2016-2017 educational year. In the experimental group, the research developed by researchers for six weeks was taught according to the curriculum as it was previously applied in the control group, with the question-based teaching effects. In the study, the data collection tool was used; the scale of self-regulation perceived and the scale of scientific knowledge attitude. There is no significant difference in the advance test points, while the last test points have found a significant difference in the benefit of the test group. There were significant differences between the groups in the previous tests. The attitude towards Fene in the last test points found a meaningful difference to the lawine team. The research-based learning approach enhances high school students’ perceived cleansing skills and their attitude towards science.
