Abstract:

As a result of the use of cultural heritage assets for tourism purposes, tourism has been granted and tourists have been transformed into a landscape of cultural heritage tourism. The purpose of this study is to identify the services desired by tourists during the use of these assets for tourist purposes, by introducing the cultural heritage assets located in the district of Bergama. For this purpose, a face-to-face survey technique was applied to 400 domestic and foreign tourists who visited the cultural heritage in the district of Bergama for tourism in August 2019. The demographic data obtained was analyzed by the ratio and frequency method. Also, according to demographic data, the services that tourists desire in the use of cultural heritage for tourism purposes have been examined by multiple response cross-table method. According to the findings, the most desired service is the guidance service. This service has followed the maintenance, restoration, transportation, environmental regulations and cleaning, recreation and information services of the historic areas respectively. As a result, this study contributes to the successful management of cultural heritage with the services desired in the use of cultural heritage for tourism purposes.
