Abstract:

Ahmet Mithat Efendi is a literary writer who is referred to as "hâce-i prevel" in Turkish literature, who opens a school for children in Rodos where he was deported, teaches in Darülfün, Darülmuallimat and Darüşşafaka and wants to educate the people with his novels. In this article, in the literary novel of Ahmet Mithat Efendi, Chingene, the question of how he is a teacher as a writer is sought to be answered. He also used critical pedagogics to answer this question. Since the Ginsengs were among the oppressed, it was based on Paulo Freire’s book Pedagogy of the oppressed. The Chinese novel has been evaluated in the framework of the concepts of "deshumanization", "double division", "rule determination", "being" and "living". The author wants to prove in his novel that the Chongqing can be trained like other people. There are two main characters in the novel: Shems Wisdom and Ziba. The author educates Ziba, the Chinese daughter, through Shems Wisdom. However, the Chinese girl, who is trained with an authoritarian educational concept, cannot experience awareness. It is strange to itself and to culture. The apparently class jumping Chinese actually turns into a imitating slave. In short, Ahmet Mithat Efendi is a father-in-law as a writer, but an authoritarian teacher. It does not allow the individual development of the Chinese.
