Abstract:

The main purpose of this research is to evaluate mobile learning using the meta-analysis method of experimental research that studies the impact of students’ academic achievements. In the study, the Meta-Analysis Method was used as a systematic synthesis method. Research for meta analysis has been obtained from the YÖK Thesis Center, ProQuest, EBSCOhost and Google Academic, National Academic Network and Information Center databases. For the research, 40 scientific studies in Turkey were selected between 2009 and 2018. The effect size of Cohen is used as an index of effect size. According to the analysis based on the random effects model, using the findings of the heterogenity test, the impact size of mobile learning on academic success was calculated at 1.055. The estimated impact size has been shown to be positive, high level of impact and statistically meaningful. Publication error has been tested using graphic and statistical findings to ensure the reliability of the meta analysis made. Comparative impact sizes of the studies included in the study are calculated and interpreted according to the year of publication, the course area, the level of learning, the mobile device used, the time of application and the application environment. The research finds that mobile learning has a positive and meaningful impact on student academic achievements.
