Abstract:

This study aims to show the attitude and level of self-capacity towards the education of the leading teacher candidates. The study also studied the attitude and self-capacity levels towards the training of superior talents on the basis of some variables. The study included 328 students from the 2nd, 3rd and 4th classes in the guiding and psychological consulting departments of the two universities in the province of Gaziantep. The research is designed with a relative scanning model. The data used the Personal Information Form developed by the researchers, the Education Attitude Scale for Higher Talented Students (Tortop, 2014a) and the Self Qualification Scale for Higher Talented Education (Tortop, 2014b). The research finds that the attitudes of the guiding teacher candidates towards superior talented students are somewhat higher than unstable levels, while the self-capacity perceptions related to the education of superior talented individuals are found at a medium level. The average attitude score of guideline teachers candidates who want to work with high-talent students, interact with high-talent individuals, in events such as reading/seeing books/films related to high-talent individuals is higher. The guidelines related to the education of high-talent students have shown significant differences in the perceptions of self-capacity of the teacher candidates, in the positive direction according to the conditions of working with high-talent individuals and participating in scientific meetings related to high-talent students. The guidelines have found a weak positive relationship between the attitudes of teachers candidates to superior skilled education and the self-quality of superior skilled education. Research findings have been discussed in recommendations for implementation and advanced research.
