TÜRKÇE ÖĞRENEN YABANCILARIN KULLANDIKLARI DİL ÖĞRENME STRATEJİLERİ

Abstract:

Bu çalışmanın amacı, Ankara Üniversitesi Türkçe ve Yabancı Dil Uygulama ve Araştırma Merkezi TÖMER'de Türkçe öğrenen yabancı uyruklu öğrenicilerin dil öğrenme stratejilerini kullanma/tercih etme düzeylerinin belirlenmesi ve bu düzeylerin çeşitli değişkenler açısından incelenmesidir. Veri toplamak için Oxford tarafından geliştirilen, Cesur ve Fer tarafından Türkçeye uyarlanan Dil Öğrenme Stratejileri Envanteri kullanılmıştır. İlişkisel tarama desenindeki bu çalışma sonucunda, Türkçe öğrenen yabancı öğrenicilerin dil öğrenme stratejilerini kullanma düzeylerinin yüksek olduğu, en fazla kullanılan stratejilerin sosyal stratejiler, en az kullanılan stratejilerin ise duyuşsal stratejiler olduğu belirlenmiştir. Yabancı kursiyerlerin dil öğrenme stratejilerini kullanmalarında cinsiyet ve eğitim düzeyleri açısından fark olmadığı, ancak dil düzeyi ve uyruk açısından anlamlı farklılık olduğu saptanmıştır.

Abstract:

The aim of this study is to determine the level of language learning strategies used by learners who are learning Turkish as a foreign language at Ankara University Turkish and Foreign Languages Research and Application Center known as TÖMER , to identify which strategies they prefer most and to examine these levels in terms of various variables. It is aimed at to see whether there is any significant difference between usages of learning strategies by age, nationality, language and educational level of students. To collect the data, Language Learning Strategies Inventory SILL , which was developed by Oxford and whose validity and reliability were proven and adapted into Turkish by Cesur and Fer, was used. As a result of this study in which correlational research pattern was used, it was determined that the level of language learning strategies used by the learners of Turkish as a foreign language is high, the most used strategies are social strategies and the least used strategies are affective strategies. It was found that there was no statistically significant difference in the usages of language learning strategies by foreign learners in terms of gender and educational level, but there was a significant difference with regards to language level and nationality.
