Abstract:

In Turkey, the formation process of the performance assessment to be applied to teachers, including the teachers, is very important in terms of their opinions, the success of the practice and the quality of education. The study aims to determine the opinions of teachers on the various dimensions of performance assessment. The universe of research is formed by teachers working in the official secondary schools in Mamak from the central districts of Ankara in the 2015/2016 educational year. The example is that in the 2015/2016 educational year, 320 teachers employed in various branches in high school schools in Mamak. In the study using the imagistic research method of the Nicel research type, a survey was implemented by the researcher by conducting the validity test in the 5 likert type for the four dimensions of performance assessment (professional criteria, evaluator, assessment and time) to determine the opinions of teachers and consisting of 25 questions. According to the research findings, teachers look positively on the implementation of performance assessment and indicate that professional criteria should be more determining in performance assessment. In addition, the teachers have partially given a positive opinion on the multi-data assessment and believe that the assessment should be done more than once a year. In the light of the findings obtained at the end of the study, a performance assessment to be carried out on the objective and measurable measurements of the performance of teachers, the assessment criteria should be what and how the assessment should be carried out.
