Abstract:

It can be stated that the location information lies on the base of the time concept in language. It is also observed that in many languages, time information and location information are expressed with same grammar forms. Because of this reason, in many of the Turkish dialects, the words of “ayak” and “adak”, developing from “adak” in Ancient Turkish, divaricate not only as sound, but also as meaning. The word, observed as “ayak” in many of the Contemporary Turkish dialects, is used as “1. Foot 2.Leg 3.Element that helps something stand 4.End”. However, it can be seen that it is used in the form of azak and as a word with adverbial task in the sub dialects of Bashkir, Tatarian dialects and Turkey Turkish. Thus, it is observed that in the vocabulary of dialects in question, depending on the change of sound, location related time meaning is loaded on the form of azak. It can be easily ascertained that this “end” information of Turkish language, also pointed out in other dialects such as Kazaqi, Karachai-Malkar, Kirghiz, New Uigur, Kumyk Turkish, is used frequently in other dialects apart from the literary language of Turkey Turkish. In this study, it is attempted to explain the occurrence of “end” information with reference to the form of azak which takes place in Bashkir Turkish.
