Özet:

The word which is used as emdi in New Uyghur language is mentioned as amtı in the Orhun Monuments which are the oldest written resource of Turkish. Today, it is used in the forms such as indi, hazir, azır, endi, şimdi in the dialects. While it is stated that the meaning of the Word emdi is şimdi [now] in the dictionary, the forms as emdigiçe, emdigine, emdiki, emdilik, emdilikte, emdiletin of this word are given as article headings as well. This word has the meanings such as at anymore, this time, since, other than now in the New Uyghur Language as well. In addition to aforesaid, its forms, emdirek, emdila are also used. In the transition among the dialects; with its word meaning is known, being known also the meanings of the extended forms of the word through suffixes and also not ignoring the meanings which may vary according to the form of usage in the syntax appear as important. In this respect, our study aims at making contribution to the prevention of the meaning inaccuracy in the transfers among the dialects. We will try to explain the meanings of the word emdi and its derivatives in the New Uyghur language by means of the examples.
