Kur’ân-ı Kerîm, Allah Teâlânın son peygamber Hz. Muhammed (s.a.s.) aracılığıyla Arap toplumunun dili ve kültürel yaşantısı üzerinden insanlığa ulaştırdığı evrensel bir mesajdır. Kur’an’ın Arapların dili olan Arapça ile indirilmesi hakkında elbette vahye ilk muhatap olan toplumun Arap olmasını gerekçe göstermek mümkündür. Nitekim Kur’an’da bu duruma işaretle her topluma kendi dilini konuşan peygamberlerin gönderildiği bildirilmektedir. Öte yandan Kur’an’ın son ilâhî mesaj olması buna bağlı olarak da ihtiva ettiği öğretilerin evrensel nitelik taşıması, onu bütün muhataplara ulaştıran dilin ve toplumun birtakım hususiyetlere sahip olmasını gerekli kılmaktadır. Bu bağlamda İbn Âşûr, müteâl olan Allah’ın (c.c.) zaman ve mekânla sınırlandırılamayan muradını tam anlamıyla ihata ederek beşerin idrakine sunan Arap dilinin ve kelâm-ı ilâhîyi sonraki nesillere eksiksiz bir biçimde aktaran ilk muhatap toplumun sahip olduğu özelliklere dikkat çekmektedir. Bu makalede İbn Âşûr’un üzerinde durduğu bu hususiyetler ele alınıp incelenerek Kur’an mesajının gerek nazil olduğu dil gerekse ilk muhatap aldığı toplum vasatında da evrensel nitelikler taşıdığı ortaya konulmaya çalışılacaktır.
