Doğu Anadolu’da Geç Demir Çağ Urartu ve Akamenid Krallıkları’nın yıkıldığı tarihleri kapsayan (MÖ 645/625-330) dönem olarak değerlendirilmekle birlikte iki evreye ayrılmaktadır. MÖ 645/625-550 yıllarına tarihlendirilen ilk evre (GDÇ1) Post-Urartu ve Med olarak, MÖ 550-330 yıllarına tarihlendirilen ikinci evre (GDÇ2) ise Pers-Akamenid egemenliği olarak tanımlanmaktadır. Elinizdeki çalışma “Arkeolojik Veriler Işığında Doğu Anadolu Geç Demir Çağı (M.Ö. 6.-4. Y.Y.) Çanak Çömleği” adlı doktora tezinin geliştirilerek düzenlenmiş halidir. Bu çalışmada da Urartu Devleti’nin yıkılmasından itibaren Akamenid dönemini kapsayan süreçte ortaya çıkan çanak çömlek incelenip yayılım ve gelişim süreci hakkında bilgi verilmiştir.
The late Iron Age in Eastern Anatolia is divided into two stages, while it is considered as the period that covers the dates of the collapse of the Akamenid kings (645/625-330 BC). The first phase dated 645/625-550 BC is defined as Post-Urartu and Med, and the second phase dated 550-330 BC (GDC2) is defined as Persian-Akamenid sovereignty.
