This study aims to try to understand how the discourse of marriage with Syrian women after the Syrian migration is handled in the media and to address the social work practices to be carried out in this direction. In the study, content analysis was carried out with a qualitative research design. The data of research consist of 139 written news that appeared on internet news portals in local (48 news) and national (91 news) newspapers. The data were analyzed in the qualitative data analysis program ATLAS.ti. The findings of the study were discussed in three main themes. According to the findings of the study, many of the gender-based problems faced by Syrian women are expressed in the media through marriages, and the violence that women are exposed to is expressed implicitly. In the news content, it was seen that the parties to the marriage were biased, and Syrian women were referred to as "disrupting family unity" and "threats". In the sources referenced in the news presentation, it was seen that Syrian women were not referred to as the subjects of marriages, and marriages were described by subordinating women. It is thought that the discourse of the media, which plays an active role in shaping the public's perspective, is important to see the discriminatory language towards Syrian women and in this context, to be effective advocacy in social work.
