Wind, which is a weather phenomenon, has a wide usage area in Divan poetry. Hot, warm and cold wind types have positive/negative effects on nature and people. These effects are frequently mentioned with different dreams in the poems of the poets. In particular, features such as the warm winds being the harbinger of spring, revitalizing the vineyard and garden, making the rose bloom and increasing the love and melodies of the nightingale are among the most discussed topics in Divan poetry in the context of the relationship of the wind with nature. As a cold and violent wind, “sarsar” has been the subject of various imagery and metaphors, although it does not have the frequency and breadth of use in Divan poetry as much as warm winds. “Sarsar” is a wind that is mentioned primarily in kasidas on autumn and winter in terms of its relationship with these seasons and other elements in nature. However, the poets also benefited from this weather phenomenon while expressing some of the characteristics of the “memduh”, the state of the lover, emotions and situations such as sadness, longing, death. In this article, "sarsar", a type of wind it has been tried to reveal its place in Divan poetry, its features, with which people, elements, situations and emotions it is associated with, through the divans chosen from the 14th and 19th centuries. The phrases formed with "sarsar" and the arts in which "sarsar" takes place in the couplets are also among the subjects examined.
