Cinsel eğitim, ailede başlayarak okulda devam eden ve bireylerin cinsellik ile ilgili konularda bilgilendirilmesi olarak ifade edilmektedir. Bu araştırma ile ortaöğretim öğrencilerinin cinsel eğitim konusundaki düşünceleri ortaya çıkarmak amaçlanmıştır. Araştırmanın çalışma grubu, Güneydoğu Anadolu Bölgesi Mardin İli Dargeçit ilçesinde ortaöğretim kurumlarına devam eden tabakalı amaçsal örnekleme yöntemi (Stratified purposive sampling method) ile seçilen 432 öğrenciden oluşmaktadır. Veriler, öğrencilerin demografik özelliklerini ve cinsel eğitim konusundaki düşüncelerini belirlemek amacıyla araştırmacılar tarafından literatür doğrultusunda hazırlanan “Cinsel Eğitim Tarama Formu” ile toplanmıştır. Verilerin analizinde SPSS 20.0 istatistik paket programı kullanılarak sayı, yüzdelik ve farkın incelenmesinde x² testi kullanılmıştır. Araştırma bulguları, katılımcıların %53.7’sinin romantik bir ilişkisi olmadığını, %74.5’inin cinsel eğitim almadığını, %31.9’unun cinsel bilgilerini arkadaşlarından aldığını, %36.6’sının cinsellikle ilgili konularda arkadaşları ile konuştuklarını, %58.3’ünün cinsel eğitime ihtiyaç duyduğunu, %50.9’unun cinsel eğitim/cinsel sağlık ile ilgili bir ders almak istemediğini, %47.7’sinin cinsel eğitim sağlık çalışanları tarafından verilmesini istediğini, %47’sinin okullarda cinsel eğitimin lise kademesinde verilmesini istediğini, %29.6’sının cinsel yollarla bulaşan hastalıklar hakkında bilgilerinin hiç olmadığını, %53.7’sinin cinsel yollarla bulaşan hastalıklarla ilgili bilgi edinmeye ihtiyaç duymadığını göstermektedir. Sonuç olarak öğrencilerin cinsel eğitim konusunda bilgilerinin yetersiz olduğu ve eğitim almaya ihtiyaç duydukları görülmektedir. Ülkemizde bu konuda yapılan araştırmaların sayısı az ve bu konudaki çalışmalarda kullanılabilecek ölçme araçları yetersiz kalmaktadır. Bu yüzden yapılan araştırmaların sonuçları örneklem gruplarının özelliklerini yansıtmaktadır. Araştırma bulguları ilgili literatür doğrultusunda tartışılmıştır.
Sex education begins in the family and continues in the school and is expressed as informing individuals about issues related to sexuality. This research aims to reveal the opinions of high school students on the subject of sexual education. The study’s work group consists of 432 students selected by the Stratified Purposive Sampling Method (Stratified Purposive Sampling Method) that continues to the Middle Education Institutions in the Mardin Ili Dargeçit district of Southeast Anadolu. The data was collected with the "Sexual Education Scanning Form" prepared by researchers according to literature in order to determine the demographic characteristics of students and their opinions on the subject of sexual education. SPSS 20 is a data analysis. The 0 statistical package program used the x2 test to study numbers, percentages and differences. Research finds that 53.7 percent of participants don’t have a romantic relationship, 74.5 percent don’t get sexual education, 31.9 percent received sexual information from friends, 36.6 percent talked with friends on sexual issues, 58.3 percent needed sexual education, 50.9 percent didn’t want to take a lesson about sexual education/sexual health, 47.7 percent wanted to be given sexual education by health workers, 47 percent wanted to be given sexual education in high school, 29.6 percent didn’t have any information about sexually transmitted diseases, 53.5 percent did not have any information about sexual education/sexual health. 7 shows that they don’t need to get information about sexually transmitted diseases. As a result, students have insufficient knowledge about sexual education and need to receive education. The number of research done in this area in our country is small and the measurement tools that can be used in this area are still insufficient. Therefore, the results of the research performed reflect the characteristics of the sampling groups. The findings of the research were discussed according to the relevant literature.

With this research, it is aimed to reveal the thoughts of high school students on sexual education. The study group of the study consists of 432 students selected by the stratified purposive sampling method, who continue at high schools in Dargeçit district of Mardin Province in the Southeastern Anatolia Region. The data is collected via "Sexual Education Screening Form" prepared by the researchers in line with the literature in order to determine the demographic characteristics and thoughts of the students about sexual education. In the analysis of the data, utilizing the SPSS 20.0 statistical package program, the x² test was used to examine the number, percentage and difference. Research findings indicate that 53.7% of the participants did not have a romantic relationship, 74.5% did not receive sexual education, 31.9% received their sexual information from their friends, 36.6% talked with their friends on sexual matters, 58.3% needed sexual education, 50.9% of them do not want to take a course about sexual education / sexual health, 47.7% of them want to be taught by healthcare professionals, 47% of them want to be given sexual education in high school, 29.6% of them have knowledge about sexually transmitted diseases, 53.7% of them do not need information about sexually transmitted diseases. As a result, it is seen that students' knowledge about sexual education is insufficient and they need education. In our country, the number of studies conducted on this subject is low and the measurement tools that can be used in studies on this subject are insufficient. Therefore, the results of the researches reflect the characteristics of the sample groups. Research findings have been discussed in line with the related literature.
