Süleymân-nâme was written by Firdevsî in the end of the 15th century and the beginning of the 16th century. Süleymân-nâme written in a mixed verse-prose form, is Firdevsî’s most voluminous work with 81 volumes. In this article, the verse parts in the 77th volume of Firdevsi's Süleyman-nâme are analyzed metaphorically. Metaphors, defined as the language of language, are the only way to understand life, ourselves and others. Metaphor is not just a linguistic element, it is an integral element of thought. The use of metaphor shows the creativity of the human mind in terms of producing new meanings. Metaphors, which play an important role in understanding literary works, especially verse, reveal the language and thought world of the people who use them. Metaphors, which reflect the current era and culture, are also important in terms of ensuring the transfer of literary tradition to the present.
