Genel olarak gelişmemiş ülkelerden gelişmiş ülkelere doğru yapılan uluslararası göçler ekonomik, sosyal ve siyasal bir takım sorunları da beraberinde getirmiştir. Türkiye’nin hem göç alan hem de göç veren bir ülke olması, göçlerin yarattığı bu olumsuz etkilerin odağı haline gelmesine neden olmaktadır. Araştırmanın örneklemi uluslararası göç niteliği taşıması bakımından önemlidir. Araştırmanın konusu, Türkiye ile ABD’deki New Jersey Eyaleti’nin Paterson Bölgesi’ arasındaki çift yönlü göç hareketidir. Araştırmanın amacı; Türkiye’den ABD’deki New Jersey Eyaleti’nin Paterson Bölgesi’ne göç eden bireylerin, göç etmesindeki temel belirleyici faktörleri ve tersine göç etme eğilimlerinin analiz edilmesidir. Araştırmada nicel yöntem kullanılmış; bu sebeple Türkiye’den göç eden 142 gönüllü katılımcıya 2017 yılında internet üzerinden ve birebir olmak üzere anket çalışması uygulanmıştır. Elde edilen bulgulara göre; eğitim amacı ile göç eden, eğitim düzeyi ve gelir seviyesi yüksek olan bireylerin, ayrıca nitelikli işlerde çalışanların büyük bölümünün Türkiye’ye dönmeyi düşünmeği, veya kararsız oldukları sonucuna ulaşılmıştır. Ekonomik amaçla göç eden, eğitim düzeyi lise seviyesinde olan, gelir seviyesi düşük olan ve niteliksiz işlerde çalışan bireylerin büyük bir kısmının ise Türkiye’ye geri dönme düşüncesine sahip oldukları belirlenmiştir.
International migrations from undeveloped countries to developed countries generally have brought together a set of economic, social and political problems. The fact that Turkey is both an immigrant and an immigrant country, makes it the center of these negative impacts created by migrations. The examples of the research are important in terms of the international immigration character. The subject of the study is the bilateral migration movement between Turkey and the Paterson Region in the U.S. state of New Jersey. The purpose of the study is to analyze the main determining factors in migration of individuals who migrate from Turkey to the Paterson Region of the State of New Jersey in the United States and their tendencies to migrate vice versa. The study used the quantum method; therefore, 142 volunteers who migrated from Turkey were subjected to an online and individual survey in 2017. According to the findings obtained; migrants for educational purposes, individuals with a high level of education and income, as well as the majority of employees in qualified jobs are thinking of returning to Turkey, or they are uncertain. The majority of individuals who migrated for economic purposes, who have a high school level, who have a low income level and who work in unqualified jobs have the idea of returning to Turkey.
