This study aims to examine the level of health literacy of patients according to both their health processes and information processing processes as well as determining whether their level of health literacy differs according to some demographic characteristics. The study population constituted patients who admitted to Hacı Şerif Tosyalı Health Center operating in the Province of Hatay. The research was conducted between January 9, 2017 and February 9, 2017. No sampling selection was performed in the study, and all the patients admitted were tried to be reached. In this context, 130 questionnaires were responded completely by the patients and 130 questionnaires were included in the analysis. One way analysis of variance was used for data analysis. As a result of the study, it was determined that there were no major differences in terms of health differences between the protection from disease (3.19±0.64), health services (3.14±0.60) and health improvement (3.10±0.65) processes. Similarly, it was also observed that there was no difference between information processing processes (access to information, understanding the information, information evaluation and application of information). As a result, participants were found to have good level of health literacy, without any difference according to their demographic characteristics.
