The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of teaching implementations based on multiple intelligence theory on reading habits of students, and theire cognitive and sensorial levels in primary school. In the study, experimental model of pre-test and post-test with control group have been used. The group of study has been composed of 7th grade students of secondary school in Sancaklar Primary School which is dependent on Public Education Management in Siirt. Experiment and control group are composed from these students. In order to achieve the objectives of the study, not only quantitative but also qualitative means of data collecting have been put into account. Appropriate lesson activities have been prepared for teaching applications based on Multiple Intelligence Theory. These activities have been implemented according to students ‘growth and learning levels. The data of quantitative collecting have been obtained by the tests of cognitive input behaviours of Turkish lesson, test of reading comprehension, self-efficacy perception related to reading comprehension and the implementation of attitude measure regarding reading habit. The qualitative data of study, has been collected by making use of discussion form providing teacher and student’s aspects regarding of learning and teaching process. According to the results obtained from quantitative and qualitative data, it has been appointed that the teaching applications based on Multiple Intelligence Theory in primary school have been more effective on increasing the levels of student’s reading comprehension, developing positive attitude to reading habits and improving self-efficacy perception of reading comprehension.
