This research has been done to compare multiple choice tests and open ended questions while evaluating reading comprehension skills of primary school students. 183 primary school students on 8th grade who have been chosen from central primary schools in Ankara with unbiased assignment (random method) compose working group of this research. Data has been gotten with scales on reading comprehension level; item analysis has been applied to provide validity of the first part of this data which has been composed of multiple choice questions and expert opinion has been applied to provide validity of the second part which has been composed of open ended questions. According to the results of this research, students have been more successful on multiple choice questions than on open ended questions in terms of reading comprehension level
