Considering the effects of early childhood education on children’s future lives, this period of education is crucial. Preschool teachers have an important role in achieving the goals of early childhood education; there is a need for professional support and help not only for the teachers but also for the children and parents in order they often need a professional help and support to facilitate this process. In this case, a school counselor can play an important part in the education of young children. Therefore, this study describes and compares pre-service preschool teachers’ and candidate counselors’ views about guidance services in early childhood education. In this study, basic qualitative research was used. The participants were 15 pre-service preschool teachers and 21 candidate counselors and a semi-structured interview protocol developed by the researchers was used to collect the data. For the qualitative data analysis, the word-repetition technique was used. According to the findings of the study, most of the participants thought that guidance services were necessary in early childhood education. Also, same types of services were usually emphasized by pre-service preschool teachers and candidate counselors. Lastly, in order to make guidance services more effective in early childhood period, approximately half of participants stated that meetings should be organized with parents.
