Günümüzde en fazla kullanılan bağımlılık yapıcı maddeler arasında sigara başta gelmektedir. Elde edilmesi kolan olan sigaranın liselerde birçok öğrenci için özenti olarak başlandığı düşünülmektedir. Sigara kullanımın yaygınlaşarak devam etmesi ülkemiz için önem arz etmekte ve devlet politikası olarak sigaraya savaş açılmaktadır. Sigaranın ilerleyen yaşlarda sağlık sorunlarına neden olmaktadır. Bu çalışmada liselerde öğrenim gören öğrencilerin sigara içme davranışlarının ve sigaranın olumsuz etkilerine yönelik bilgi düzeylerinin belirlenmesi amaçlamaktadır. Araştırmanın çalışma grubunu Denizli merkezde ortaöğretim düzeyinde eğitim gören 425 öğrenci oluşturmaktadır. Öğrencilerin algı düzeylerinin belirlemek için araştırmacılar tarafından belirlenen beş maddelik bir anket uygulanmıştır. Öğrencilerin cinsiyetleri, sınıf düzeyleri, anne ve baba eğitim durumu, ailenin ekonomik durumu ve sigara içme davranışlarına yönelik olarak elde betimsel istatistikler olarak gösterilmiştir. Veri toplama araçları olarak; araştırmacı tarafından geliştirilen “ortaöğretim öğrencilerinin sigaranın sağlığa olan zararları hakkındaki bilgi düzeylerini belirleme” anketi kullanılmıştır. Öğrenciler sigara içmenin verdiği sağlık sorunlarına karşı oluşturulan bilgi düzeyleri incelendiğinde öğrencilerin en fazla kabul ettikleri sorun sigara içilen ortamın çocuklar için zararlı olduğudur. Ayrıca sigara içmenin sağlığa zararlı olduğu ve hamileyken içilen sigarın bebeğe arar vereceği sorunlarına yüksek oranda katıldıkları görülmüştür. Oluşturulan model öğrencilerin sigara içme davranışlarının % 8,2’sini açıklamakta (Nagelkerke R2) ve sigara içme davranışına sahip olan öğrencilerin % 81’ini doğru olarak sınıflandırmaktadır. Yapılan çalışmada sigara içmenin lise öğrencilerinde giderek artığı ve sigara içmede arkadaş çevresinin önemli olduğu ortaya konulmuştur. Ankete katılan öğrencilerin sigaranın sağlığa zararlı olduğunu bildikleri ve buna rağmen sigara kullandıkları ortaya konulmaktadır. Sigara döneminde kritik bir dönem olan lise döneminin dikkat edilmesi gerekmektedir. Sigaraya başlamanın en fazla görüldüğü dönem lise dönemi olarak görülmektedir.
Today, smoking is among the most used addiction-building substances. It is believed that the earning of cigarettes in the column begins as a care for many students in high school. The continued spread of smoking is important for our country and the government’s policy is opening a war against smoking. Smoking causes health problems in older years. This study aims to determine the level of knowledge of high school students about smoking behavior and the negative effects of smoking. The study’s work group consists of 425 students studying at the secondary level in the Denizli center. A five-subject survey was implemented by researchers to determine the level of perception of students. The students’ gender, class levels, mother and father’s educational status, the economic status of the family and the signing behavior are shown as visual statistics obtained. As a data collection tool, the survey developed by the researcher was used to determine the level of knowledge of middle school students about the harm to health of smoking. When students are studied the level of knowledge created against the health problems of smoking, the problem that students most accept is that the smoking environment is harmful to children. It has also been shown that smoking is harmful to health and is highly involved in the problems that smoking during pregnancy will bring to the baby. The model describes 8.2 percent of students’ smoking behavior (Nagelkerke R2) and correctly classifies 81% of students who have smoking behavior. The study found that smoking is increasing in high school students and that smoking is important in the environment of friends. Students who participated in the survey found that they knew that smoking was harmful to health and that they were smoking. The high school period, which is a critical period during the smoking period, should be observed. The period when smoking begins is the high school period.

The model explained 8,2% of the students' smoking behaviors (Nagelkerke R2) and correctly classified 81% of the students with smoking behaviors. In this study, it has been shown that smoking is gradually increasing among high school students and friends circle is important in smoking. It was revealed that the students who participated in the questionnaire knew that smoking was harmful to health and they still smoke. High school period, which is a critical period during smoking, should be considered. The most common period for starting smoking is seen as high school.
