Abstract:

The objective of the study is to rely on the scientific analysis of the language-scientific terms of language knowledge in general-purpose dictionaries, to reach scientific findings in the dictionaries and to offer various solutions to the problems of labelling, identification and updating in general-purpose dictionaries. For this purpose, the scientific terms contained in the Turkish Dictionary, which is prepared by the Turkish Language Authority, which is an academic dictionary, are primarily subject to the scientific analysis of the form, and the relevant terms are discussed in conjunction with the scientific data of the dictionary. As a result of the analysis, the limits between the terms marked with the language knowledge label in the Turkish Dictionary and the terms labeled with the language science have been discontinued. The same foolishness was observed between the form science and the form knowledge concepts. The dictionary, accompanied by scientific standards in the Turkish dictionary, has come to the conclusion that a systematic method is not followed in the definitions of form scientific terms (such as labelling, definition, sampling). Some of the terms that are widely used in the form science literature have been found that they are not included in the Turkish Dictionary as the subject. In conjunction with these findings, the online version of the Turkish Dictionary has been presented with the recommendations that different definitions can be made according to the expert, semi-expert and non-expert dictionary users and that form science terms can be marked with the language science label by separating from the form knowledge terms and that the Turkish Dictionary should be updated in conjunction with the language scientific and dictionary scientific data.
