Bu araştırmada sosyal bilgiler öğretmenlerinin ve 7. sınıf öğrencilerinin sosyal bilgiler derslerinde müze kullanımına yönelik görüş ve düşüncelerini ortaya koymak amaçlanmıştır. Betimsel tarama modeline göre desenlenen araştırmanın örneklemini Manisa Büyükşehir Merkez Şehzadeler ve Yunusemre ilçelerindeki 1397 ortaokul 7. sınıf öğrencisi ile 85 sosyal bilgiler öğretmeni oluşturmuştur. Veri toplama aracı olarak müze eğitiminde öğretmen ve öğrencilerin görüşlerini belirlemeye yarayan derecelendirilmiş bilgi toplama formu kullanılmıştır. Araştırma sonuçlarına göre, sosyal bilgiler öğretmenleri ve 7. sınıf öğrencilerinin sosyal bilgiler dersinde müzelerden faydalanmaya ilişkin görüşlerinin olumlu olduğu görülmüştür. Müze eğitiminin öğrencilerin tarih bilincini artırdığı ve öğrencilerde tarihi eserleri koruma bilinci geliştirdiği hem sosyal bilgiler öğretmenleri hem de öğrenciler tarafından vurgulanmıştır. Sosyal bilgiler öğretmenlerinin ve öğrencilerin müze gezileri sürecinde çok fazla sıkıntı yaşamadıkları ve dersleri müzelerde işlemeye istekli oldukları sonucuna ulaşılmıştır. Bununla birlikte maliyet, öğrenci sayısının fazlalığı, planlama ve organizasyon zorlukları ve ailenin okul dışı etkinliklere izin vermemesi müze eğitimi uygulamasında karşılaşılan sorunlar arasındadır. Araştırmaya katılan hem öğretmen hem öğrenci görüşlerine göre müze gezisi sonrası eğitsel etkinliklere yeterince yer verilmemektedir.

This study aims to reveal the views and thoughts of social information teachers and students of 7th grade on the use of the museum in social information courses. The sample of the research designed according to the visual scan model was formed by 1397 high school 7th-class students and 85 social information teachers in Manisa Metropolitan Central City and Yunusemre districts. As a data collection tool, a classified information collection form was used to determine the opinions of teachers and students in the museum education. According to the research results, social information teachers and 7th grade students’ opinions on how to benefit from the museums in social information classes were positive. Museum education has been emphasized by both social information teachers and students that increases the student's consciousness of history and develops the student's consciousness of conservation of historical works. Social information has come to the conclusion that teachers and students do not experience much trouble during the process of the museums and are willing to process the lessons in the museums. However, the cost is among the problems faced in the application of museum education, the excess of student number, the planning and organizational difficulties, and the failure of the family to allow out-of-school events. According to both the teachers and students who participated in the study, there is no sufficient space for the educational activities after the museum trip.

In this study, it is aimed to reveal the opinions and thoughts of social studies teachers and 7th grade students regarding the use of museum visits in social studies lessons. The sample of the study, which was designed according to the descriptive screening model, was composed of 1397 middle school 7th grade students and 85 social studies teachers in Manisa Metropolitan Şehzadeler and Yunusemre districts. As a data collection tool, graded information collection form was used to determine the opinions of teachers and students in museum education. According to the results of the research, social studies teachers and 7th grade students both agree on the fact that museum education increases the awareness of history and develops awareness of preserving historical artifacts. In addition, teachers and students stated that they did not encounter significant problems during the museum visits and they were willing to teach the lessons in museums. However, the cost, the high number of students, the planning difficulties, and the family's failure to allow out-of-school activities are among the problems encountered in museum education practice. According to the opinions of both teachers and students participating in the research, educational activities are not sufficiently included after the museum visit.
