Lise Öğrencilerinin Meslek Seçimini Etkileyen Faktörler

Abstract:

Bireylerin meslek seçim kararı ve meslek tercihleri birden fazla faktörden etkilenmektedir. Bu faktörlerden bazıları meslek kararı verme yetkinliği, kariyer kaygısı ve meslek seçiminde aile desteğidir. Çalışmamızın amacı lise öğrencilerinin meslek kararı verme yetkinliği, kariyer kaygısı ve meslek seçiminde aile desteği düzeylerinin belirlenmesi ve arasındaki ilişkinin incelenmesidir. Araştırmada Meslek Kararı Verme Yetkinlik Ölçeği (Bozgeyikli, 2014), Kariyer Kaygısı Ölçeği (Çetin Gündüz & Nalbantoğlu Yılmaz, 2016) ve Meslek Seçiminde Aile Desteği Ölçeği (Şeker & Kaya, 2016) Türkiye’nin doğusunda bir ilde, lisede öğrenim göre 364 öğrenciye uygulanmıştır. Araştırma sonucunda, lise öğrencilerinin yarısından fazlasının meslek kararı verme yetkinliğinin yüksek düzeyde, %4’ünün ise mesleki karar verme yetkinliğinin düşük düzeyde olduğu belirlenmiştir. Lise öğrencilerinin %27’sinin kariyer kaygısının yüksek düzeyde olduğu, %11’nin ailesi tarafından meslek seçiminde düşük düzeyde desteklendiği sonucuna ulaşılmıştır. Ayrıca meslek kararı verme yetkinliği ve meslek seçiminde aile desteği arasında pozitif yönde ortalama düzeyde, meslek kararı verme yetkinliği ile kariyer kaygısı arasında negatif yönde ortalama düzeyde, meslek seçiminde aile desteği ile kariyer kaygısı arasında negatif yönde ortalama düzeyde bir ilişki olduğu belirlenmiştir.

Individuals' career choice and career preferences are influenced by more than one factor. Some of these factors include the ability to make professional decisions, career concerns and family support in the choice of a profession. The aim of our study is to determine the competence of high school students to make professional decisions, career concerns and the level of family support in their career choice and to study the relationship between them. The scale of competence to make a career decision in the study (Bozgeyikli, 2014), the scale of career anxiety (Cetin Gündüz & Nalbantoğlu Yılmaz, 2016) and the scale of family support in the career selection (Seker & Kaya, 2016) was applied to a province in the east of Turkey, 364 students according to high school studies. The study found that more than half of high school students had a high level of vocational decision-making ability and 4 percent had a low level of vocational decision-making ability. 27% of high school students have a high level of career anxiety and 11% have a low level of family support in their career choices. It has also been determined that there is an average level in the positive direction between professional decision-making ability and family support in the career choice, the average level in the negative direction between professional decision-making ability and career anxiety, the average level in the negative direction between family support and career anxiety in the career choice.

Career choice decisions and professional preferences of individuals are affected by more than one factor. Some of these factors are the competence to make a career decision, career anxiety, and family support in choosing a profession. Our study aims to determine and examine the relationship between high school students' professional decision-making competence, career anxiety and family support levels in choosing a profession. career Decision Making Self Efficacy Scale (Bozgeyikli of 2014), Career Anxiety Scale (Cetin Gündüz & Nalbantoğlu Yilmaz, 2016) and Family Support Choice of Vocation (Şeker & Kaya, 2016) in eastern Turkey, a province was administered to 364 students by education in high schools. As a result of the research, it was determined that more than half of the high school students have a high level of career decision making self efficacy, and 4% of them have a low level of career decision making self efficacy. It has been concluded that 27% of high school students have a high level of career anxiety and 11% of them are supported at a low level by their family support choice of vocation. Also, it was determined that there is an average positive correlation between the competence to make career choice and family support choice of vocation, a negative relationship between the competence to make professional decisions and career anxiety, and a negative relationship between family support and career anxiety in the choice of vocation.
