Abstract:

The aim of this study is to analyze the Milli Görüş Movement's geopolitical imagination and its ideological discourse and practice on gender politics. The data set for the study was obtained from the parliamentary candidate lists, party programs, and election manifestos of the general election periods in which Millî Görüş political parties participated. The statements of the political parties on women's identity were evaluated through critical discourse analysis, their thematic connections were examined through content analysis techniques, and conceptual relationship networks were formed. In addition, the data obtained from the parliamentary candidate lists was mapped through ArcGIS software to visualize the spatial distribution of the practice of women's representation. As a result, it has been determined in the study that the gender policy of Millî Görüş is based on a homogeneous setup and its representation practice has a masculine geographical semiology.
