Bulanık VIKOR Yöntemi ile Finansal Performans Analizi: Türk Kimya Sektöründe Bir Uygulama

Türkiye gibi gelişmekte olan ülkeler için sektörlerin finansal performanslarının iyi olması, ülke ekonomisinin geleceği ile firmaların karlılık ve süreklilikleri için kritik öneme sahiptir. Kimya sektörü, yüksek katma değer, kaliteli işgücü ve ihracat potansiyeli gibi etkileri göz önüne alındığında, ekonomiler için hayati öneme sahiptir. Çok sayıda farklı kriteri yani finansal oranı içeren finansal performansın ölçülmesi işletmeler ve ekonomik sektörler için önemli ve hassas bir süreçtir. Çok Kriterli Karar Verme (ÇKKV) yöntemleri, birden çok kriteri göz önüne alarak alternatifleri değerlendirebilmekte ve analizlerde kolaylık sağlamaktadır. Bu çalışmada uzman görüşleri temelli bulanık VIKOR yöntemi ile Türk kimya sektörünün finansal performansı yıllara ve alt sektörlere göre analiz edilmiştir. Değerlendirme kriteri olarak, literatürde finansal performans analizlerinde yaygın olarak kullanılan 10 finansal oran seçilmiştir. Uygulama verisi olarak, TCMB (Türkiye Cumhuriyet Merkez Bankası) tarafından yayınlanan yıllık sektör bilançoları kullanılmıştır. Çalışmanın yapıldığı dönemde TCMB tarafından kimya sektörü dört alt sektöre ayrılmıştır. Dört alt sektörü içeren güncel veriler 2016 yılına kadar olduğu için, çalışma 2010-2016 dönemini kapsamaktadır. Çalışmada öncelikle, kimya alt sektörlerinin 2010-2016 yılları arası yedi yıllık finansal performansları ayrı ayrı hesaplanmış, sonrasında da performans sıralamalarında alt sektörler arasında farklılık olup olmadığı araştırılmıştır. Genel olarak alt sektörler, farklı yıllarda en iyi finansal başarılarını göstermiştir. Kimya alt sektörlerinin tümünde yıllık finansal performans sürekli bir artış veya azalıştan ziyade dalgalı bir seyir izlemiştir. Spearman sıra korelasyon katsayılarına göre; C-203 (Boya ve Benzeri Maddeler İmalatı) ile C-205 (Diğer Kimyasal Ürünlerin İmalatı) alt sektörlerinin yıllar itibarıyla performans sıralamalarının ilişkili olduğu görülmüştür. Bu iki alt sektörün yıllık performans sıralamaları birbirine benzer iken, diğer alt sektörlerdeki yıllık performans sıralamaları farklılık göstermiştir. Bu sonuçlar göstermektedir ki, bir sektördeki alt sektörlerin finansal başarısı birbirinden bağımsız hareket edebilmektedir. Bunun nedenleri ileride başka bir çalışmanın konusu olabileceği öngörülmektedir. For developing countries such as Turkey, the good financial performance of sectors is critical for the future of the country’s economy and the profitability and continuity of companies. The chemical sector, taking into account its effects such as high added value, high-quality labor and export potential, is vital for economies. Measurement of financial performance, which includes a number of different criteria, i.e. the financial ratio, is an important and sensitive process for and economic sectors. Multi-criteria decision making methods can evaluate alternatives and facilitate analysis, taking into account multiple criteria. In this study, expert opinions were based on the foolish VIKOR method and the financial performance of the Turkish chemical sector was analyzed according to years and sub-sector. As an assessment criterion, 10 financial ratings used widely in financial performance analysis in literature have been selected. As application data, the annual sector balance sheets published by TCMB (Turkish Republic Central Bank) have been used. During the study, the chemistry sector was divided into four sub-sectors by TCMB. Since the current data of the four sub-sector is up to 2016, the study covers the 2010-2016 period. The study first calculated the seven-year financial performance of the chemical sub-sector between 2010 and 2016 separately, and subsequently examined whether there were differences in performance rankings between the sub-sector. In general, the sub-sectors have shown their best financial achievements in different years. In all the chemical sub-sectors, annual financial performance has followed a wave-down rather than a continuous increase or decrease. According to the spearman line correlation ratings; C-203 (Color and Similar Materials Manufacturing) and C-205 (Other Chemical Products Manufacturing) sub-sectors have been related to performance rankings for years. While the annual performance rankings of these two sub-sectors are similar to each other, the annual performance rankings in other sub-sectors are different. These findings show that the financial success of a sub-sector can be independent of each other. The reason for this is that it may be the subject of another study in the future. The chemical sector is vital for economies, given the impact of high added value, quality workforce and export potential. Measuring financial performance involving multiple criteria, i.e. financial ratios, is an important and sensitive process. Multi-Criteria Decision Making (MCDM) methods can evaluate alternatives by considering multiple criteria and facilitate analysis. In this study, the financial performance of the Turkish chemical sector was analyzed by years and sub-sectors with the fuzzy VIKOR method based on expert opinions. As the evaluation criterion, 10 financial ratios commonly used in the financial performance analysis in the literature were selected. As the application data, the annual sector balance sheets were used that issued by CBRT (Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey). During the period of the study, the chemical sector was divided into four sub-sectors by the CBRT. The study covers the period 2010-2016, as current data for the four sub-sectors is up to 2016. In the study, firstly, the financial performances of the chemical sub-sectors for seven years between 2010 and 2016 were calculated separately, and then it was investigated whether there is a difference between the sub-sectors in performance rankings. In general, the sub-sectors have shown their best financial success in different years. Annual financial performance in all the chemical sub-sectors followed a fluctuating course rather than a continuous increase or decrease. According to Spearman rank correlation coefficients; It has been observed that the performance rankings of C-203 (Production of Paint and Similar Substances) and C-205 (Production of Other Chemical Products) sub-sectors by years are related. While the annual performance rankings of these two sub-sectors are similar, the annual performance rankings in the other sub-sectors differed. These results show that the financial success of sub-sectors in a sector can act independently from each other. The reasons for this may be the subject of another study in the future.
