Abstract:

Abstract The impact of dating applications on the lives of its users has led to the understanding that solidity, security and monogamy, the basic values of romantic love, are fragmented by the technological change and the unbridled individualization. This article aims to explore the lack of interest of dating apps users in long-term relationships. For this purpose, it performs a content analysis of the comments posted in the campaign “Seu amor de verdade” made by the app “Par Perfeito” on its Facebook fanpage. As mediators of individual interests, the study revealed that users show a veiled interest in pursuing this type of relationship through expressing regrets or discouragement.
