Abstract:

This study has studied the relationship between multi-dimensional jealousy, socio-demographic variables, confidence in bilateral relationships and levels of self-respect in individuals with romantic relationships. The study group consisted of 458 individuals who lived in a romantic relationship, married or married. Participants responded to the personal information form developed by the Multi-Dimensional Jealousy Scale CBS, the Confidence Scale of Bilateral Relations, the Rosenberg Self-respect Scale RBS, and the researchers. The data analysis used Pearson's correlation analysis and multiple regression analysis. The study found that cognitive jealousy is associated with the level of education, the level of income, confidence and self-respect in bilateral relationships, the level of expectation for the future of the relationship and the level of confidence and behavioral jealousy in bilateral relationships, the age, the level of education, the level of expectation for the future of the relationship and the level of confidence in bilateral relationships. Sex, physical appearance assessments, relationship satisfaction and frequency of conversations are not associated with cognitive, emotional and behavioral jealousy. The findings were discussed according to the literature. Because the variables discussed in this study are linked in different ways to the different dimensions of jealousy, in individual/group psychological consultations, marriage or pre-marriage therapies, therapists can help improve the quality of the service offered to address jealousy in different dimensions.
