Abstract:

The aim of this study is to examine the texts about Haci Bektashi Veli in secondary school textbooks in terms of values education. The document analysis method, which is one of the qualitative research methods, was used in the research and data were analyzed by descriptive analysis technique. In the research, 11 secondary school textbooks published by the Ministry of National Education State Publishing House were examined and It was seen that in 4 of them, the subjects of Haci Bektashi Veli and Alevîsm-Bektashism were included. While the subjects of Hacı Bektashi Veli and Alevîsm-Bektashism are mostly included in the Religious and Ethnic textbooks, they are briefly mentioned in the Social Studies and Turkish textbooks. In the analysis of the data, a value analysis form developed based on the root values (justice, patience, respect, love, responsibility, friendship, honesty, self-control, helpfulness and patriotism) included in the 2018 curriculum was used. The values reached as a result of the analysis of the data were divided into two themes as “Root Values” and “Other Values”. Values under the “Root Values” theme: Friendship/Sisterhood, Helpfulness, Love, Honesty/Truthfulness and Patriotism. Values under the theme of “Other Values” are: Solidarity, Tolerance, Respect for Differences and Hospitality.
