Bu araştırmada okul yöneticilerinin toksik liderlik davranışları ile öğretmenlerin örgütsel sinizm ve okul etkililiğine ilişkin algıları arasındaki ilişki incelenmiştir. Araştırma da nicel araştırma yöntemlerinden ilişkisel tarama modeli kullanılmıştır. Araştırmanın evreninin Kayseri ili Melikgazi ilçesinde görev yapan öğretmenler, örneklemini ise basit tesadüfi örnekleme yöntemi ile seçilen 238 öğretmen oluşturmaktadır. Araştırma verileri ölçekler aracılığı ile toplanmıştır. Verilerin analizi SPSS programı aracılığı ile analiz edilmiştir. Araştırmadan elde edilen sonuçlara göre okul yöneticilerinin toksik liderlik davranışı sergileme düzeyleri, öğretmenlerin örgütsel sinizm ve okul etkililiği algıları orta düzeyde çıkmıştır. Elde edilen sonuçlara göre öğretmenlerin toksik liderlik, örgütsel sinizm ve okul etkililiği algıları cinsiyet, okul türü, eğitim düzeyi değişkenlerine göre anlamlı bir farklılık göstermemektedir. Kıdem değişkenine göre ise öğretmenlerin toksik liderlik algıları anlamlı bir şekilde farklılaşırken, örgütsel sinizm ve okul etkililiği algıları ise anlamlı bir şekilde farklılık göstermemektedir. Araştırmadan elde edilen sonuçlara göre toksik liderlik ile örgütsel sinizm arasında pozitif yönlü anlamlı bir ilişki söz konusu iken toksik liderlik ile okul etkililiği arasında negatif yönlü anlamlı bir ilişki ortaya çıkmıştır. Diğer bir sonuca göre ise örgütsel sinizm ile okul etkililiği arasında herhangi bir ilişki ortaya çıkmamıştır. Araştırmadan elde edilen diğer bir sonuç toksik liderliğin hem örgütsel sinizm hem de okul etkililiği üzerinde anlamlı bir yordayıcı olduğudur.
In this study, the relationship between school administrators' toxic leadership behaviours and teachers' perceptions of organisational cynicism and school effectiveness was examined. Relational survey model, one of the quantitative research methods, was used in the study. The population of the research consists of teachers working in Melikgazi district of Kayseri province and the sample consists of 238 teachers selected by simple random sampling method. The research data were collected through scales. The data were analysed using SPSS software. According to the results obtained from the research, school administrators' levels of toxic leadership behaviour, teachers' perceptions of organisational cynicism and school effectiveness were found to be at medium level. According to the results obtained, teachers' perceptions of toxic leadership, organisational cynicism and school effectiveness do not show a significant difference according to gender, school type and education level variables. According to the seniority variable, teachers' perceptions of toxic leadership differ significantly, while their perceptions of organisational cynicism and school effectiveness do not differ significantly. According to the results obtained from the study, while there is a significant positive relationship between toxic leadership and organisational cynicism, there is a significant negative relationship between toxic leadership and school effectiveness. According to another result, there was no relationship between organisational cynicism and school effectiveness. Another result obtained from the research is that toxic leadership is a significant predictor of both organisational cynicism and school effectiveness.
