Abstract:

This study aims to develop a measurement tool with psychometric characteristics that will allow teachers to determine their perceptions of skills teaching. Following the scale development stages determined by scanning the area, a scale form of 80 material draft was created. The draft form was implemented in a research group consisting of 590 teachers working in state schools in the spring period of the 2019-2020 educational year in the district of Kırıkkale. After the application, the Opening Factor Analysis (AFA) and the Verification Factor Analysis (DFA) were performed. The AFA resulted that the scale consisted of 32 matters and five sub-dimensions. The Cronbach Alpha reliability rate for the scale is 0.950 for the scale overall. The reliability level for the cooperation subdimensional is 0.917; the reliability level for the communication subdimensional is 0.886; the reliability level for the creativity subdimensional is 0.891; the reliability level for the problem-solving subdimensional is 0.730; the reliability level for the critical thinking subdimensional is 0.816. Furthermore, the verifying factor analysis (DFA) has found that the scale is appropriate in the context of compliance index (RMSEA, .051; RMR, .040; GFI, .863; AGFI, .838; NFI, .833; IFI, .915; CFI, .914; X2/sd, 1.865). Thus, the teacher’s skill teaching skill perception scale (BED) has been developed.
