Abstract:

The aim of this study is to determine the effect of the Genetics and Biotechnology Course's scientific knowledge on the levels of awareness of biotechnology and GMO issues in teachers' candidates. The examples of the research in the 2016-2017 spring period are formed by teachers candidates registered in the course of Genetics and Biotechnology of the Department of Mathematics and Sciences of the Department of Sciences of the Department of Sciences. Teacher candidates were applied to two different biotechnology attitude scales and essay type tests at the beginning and at the end of the semester. The research methods of quality and quantity were used together and the data obtained were analyzed using the SPSS 17.0 package program and made by creating a quality analysis table. The post-application attitudes of teachers candidates have not varied significantly but a significant difference in the level of awareness has been found in the quality research.
