Abstract:

This study is aimed at evaluating the academic studies published on the right to education in Turkey. In the study, using the systematic assembly method, the YÖK National Thesis Center, the TR Dizin and the magazine Park databases were scanned through the work titles between 2000-2021. The results of this study are 16 studies that have been carried out. These studies have been studied according to their types, patterns, participants, objectives, results and recommendations. According to the research findings, in Turkey, especially girls and individuals from socioeconomically low families have problems in enjoying the right to basic education, disabled, working, in prison and refugee children in enjoying the right to education, and some minorities in enjoying the right to education in their motherhood. In accordance with these findings, it is proposed that as the primary obligation in the provision of the right to education, the State, as a social state, should comply with its national and international obligations in relation to the right to education and to engage in an effort towards the issues related to the use of the right to education. In addition, as there is a small number of empirical studies on the right to education in Turkey, it is also recommended that more work is done on this subject.
