Abstract:

The purpose of this research is to determine the group work skills of students who receive tourism education at the bachelor’s level prepared for business life. The research in this scope was carried out on 394 tourism students who studied at the bachelor level at Sakarya University of Applied Sciences in the spring period of the 2019-2020 academic year. The data collection has been developed by Cumming vd., (2014) and adapted to Turkish by Ozan (2018) using the "Group Study Skills Scale". In statistical analysis of data, SPSS used frequency analysis, independent groups t-test and variance (anova) analysis. In addition, the verifying factor analysis (DFA) has been performed using the AMOS program. The results of the assessment of the data showed that the students who participated in the research had high group work skills. The statistical processes resulted in no statistically significant differences in terms of age, class, type of learning, participation in sports activities, type of participation in sports activities and association-club membership. As a result, it can be said that the group work skills, which play an important role in the work life and the functioning of the organization culture, are qualified to demonstrate that the bachelor’s level of students in tourism education are prepared for their business life.
