Abstract:

The aim of this study is to determine the readability levels of the texts in the C1 Advanced Level and Yunus Order Institute C1-C2 Advanced Level Curriculum Books prepared for Turkish teaching to foreigners and to determine how suitable the readability levels in these texts are to the student level. The method of document examination from the qualitative research methods used in the study was calculated by the researcher the heads, words and sentences lengths of the texts in the curricula books. The data obtained was analyzed using the Flesch formula that Ateşman (1997) adapted to Turkish and the text readability points were determined. The readability average is compared to determine whether there is a statistically meaningful difference between the three books. The study found that there was a significant difference between the length of the word, the length of the phrase and the readability points between the three books. According to the results obtained from the study, the Yunus Emre Institute’s C2 level curriculum consists of lessons of more difficult level than the Yunus Emre Institute’s C1 and the Gazi C1 level curriculum books. According to the results of the study, there are recommendations for those preparing the lesson in this field.
